About the role

As the Lead Property Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for the Property Safety Team to support the Property Development function in providing safe and compliant facilities for customers, colleagues, and suppliers.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Leading the Property Safety team, providing mentorship, support, and training.
  2. Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures in line with CDM and Building Safety Act requirements.
  3. Ensuring all property safety measures comply with CDM regulations and coordinating the organization's compliance with the Building Safety Act.
  4. Conducting regular risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards.
  5. Developing risk mitigation strategies for identified hazards.
  6. Acting with integrity and due diligence, following our Business Code of Conduct.
  7. Driving improvements in Property safety compliance, ensuring safety management aligns with Tesco Blueprint and ISO 45001 standards.
  8. Maintaining the Property Safety Management System and keeping up-to-date with industry standards and associations.
  9. Providing training on CDM and Building Safety Act requirements.
  10. Facilitating safety governance processes and reporting safety issues.
  11. Leading investigations into property safety incidents and collaborating with GPS on case investigations.
  12. Maintaining records of safety inspections, audits, and incidents.
Minimum requirements

You will need:

  • A safety diploma or degree-level qualification.
  • Extensive knowledge of CDM regulations and the Building Safety Act.
  • Experience in property safety management and team leadership.
  • Experience in policy development and working with enforcement bodies.
  • Safety or operational experience in property, development, or construction within a retail or related environment.
  • Experience managing safety change projects involving colleagues or suppliers.
