About the role

As the Lead Property Health & Safety Manager, you will be accountable for the Property Safety Team to support the Property Development function to provide safe & compliant facilities for our customers, colleagues & suppliers.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Property Safety team, providing mentorship, support, and training
  • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in line with CDM and Building Safety Act requirements
  • Ensure all property safety measures align with CDM regulations and serve as the proficient person responsible for compliance with the Building Safety Act
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Follow our Business Code of Conduct with integrity and due diligence
  • Innovate and improve Property safety compliance, ensuring Tesco standards and safety management
  • Maintain the Property Safety Management System aligned with ISO 45001 and industry standards
  • Provide training on CDM and Building Safety Act requirements
  • Support safety governance processes and incident investigations
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, audits, and incidents
Minimum requirements:
  • Safety diploma or degree qualification
  • Extensive knowledge of CDM regulations and the Building Safety Act
  • Experience in property safety management and team leadership
  • Experience in policy development and enforcement collaboration
  • Operational safety experience in Property or related fields
  • Experience in development/construction within retail or similar environments
  • Management of safety change projects involving colleagues or suppliers
