Head of Health and Safety

Location: Residential Real Estate - London

Salary: Up to £70,000 plus Benefits

Irwin and Colton have partnered with one of London's most prestigious organisations within the residential space, seeking to appoint a Head of Health and Safety. This organisation is committed to creating an optimal lifestyle for retirement living, featuring premium standards, high-end restaurants, spa facilities, and 24/7 concierge services for residents and guests.

The Head of Health and Safety will champion the organisation's health and safety culture, leading strategy development and implementing policies, procedures, and processes across development sites, operational sites, and head office.

Responsibilities

1. Lead a culture of best practice health and safety across the business and property portfolio, ensuring regulatory compliance.
2. Provide expert guidance and leadership to the board of Directors and engage with staff on health and safety issues.
3. Manage activities across the portfolio through proper risk assessment and regular audits to evaluate performance.
4. Develop and manage ISO management systems, seeking opportunities for improvement.
5. Influence and engage internal staff and external contractors based on construction and development plans.

Candidate Requirements

1. Proven experience in a similar role within property, the built environment, facilities management, or related industries.
2. Ability to influence, engage, and coach at all organisational levels.
3. Understanding of the 'Building Safety Act' 2022.
4. NEBOSH Diploma or BSc in Occupational Safety and Health (or equivalent).
5. Membership of a professional body such as IOSH; Chartership preferred or in progress.
