Job summary

Ferryhill School is seeking a Lead Practitioner in Mathematics to drive high standards and secure excellent outcomes for all students. You will lead curriculum planning, support colleagues and employ data to shape teaching and learning across the Maths department.

The role requires QTS with strong Maths expertise, a track record of impact at KS3/KS4, and a commitment to safeguarding. You will contribute to a culture of Think, Solve, Explore and Achieve across Ferryhill School.

Qualifications

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status with strong Mathematics expertise.
  • Recent successful KS3/KS4 Maths teaching with evidence of student progress.
  • Exceptional classroom practitioner with a proven record of positive outcomes.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum sequencing and progression.
  • Ability to analyse assessment data and translate into action.
  • Credibility and interpersonal skills to coach and support colleagues.
  • Experience designing and leading high-impact professional development.

Job description

The Lead Practitioner will:
  • HoldQualified Teacher Status and have strong academic or professional expertise inMathematics.
  • Haverecent successful experience of teaching Mathematics at KeyStages 3 and 4, andbe able to demonstrate positive progress of classes taught.
  • Be anexceptional classroom practitioner with a strong record of securing positiveoutcomes for students.
  • Havea strong understanding of curriculum sequencing and progression.
  • Understandhow students develop mathematical fluency, reasoning and problem-solving overtime.
