Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join a small, specialist team building horizontal capabilities, including reusable APIs, libraries, and reference architectures that accelerate delivery across products and platforms.

You will lead the development and production operation of AI-enabled systems in secure enterprise environments, mentor engineers, and contribute to firmwide standards and thought leadership to keep the organization at the forefront of AI engineering advancements.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on system/software development experience in secure, regulated environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical discussions across a team or program.
• Significant experience in Java and/or Python.
• Experience using AI coding assistants to complete software tasks.
• Solid understanding of building AI solutions using an LLM backed architecture.
• Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native services on AWS, including Bedrock.
• Strong DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containers, and IaC.
• Strong prompt engineering capability and structured outputs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modular AI systems aligned to Infrastructure platform standards.
• Partner with AI/ML, Data Science, and Cybersecurity engineers to create secure AI solutions.
• Produce secure, high-quality production code and conduct reviews.
• Evaluate AI approaches to improve design quality and operational outcomes.
• Influence decisions to adopt leading-edge technologies creating measurable value.
• Drive enterprise AI engineering practices and reusable patterns.
• Contribute to firmwide AI-enabled SDLC frameworks and tooling.
• Foster a culture of inclusion and opportunity.
