Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to join a specialist AI/ML team within Infrastructure Platforms. You will develop reusable APIs, libraries, and reference architectures to accelerate delivery across platforms.

You will lead the development and deployment of enterprise AI-enabled systems, mentor engineers, and promote best practices for secure, scalable solutions in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on system/software development experience delivering production services in secure, regulated environments.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical discussions across a team or program.
• Significant experience in Java and/or Python.
• Experience using AI coding assistants to complete software engineering tasks.
• Solid understanding of building AI solutions using an LLM-backed architecture.
• Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native services on AWS, including Bedrock.
• Strong DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/ECS/EKS), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Strong prompt engineering capability including system prompts, few-shot prompting, tool calls, and JSON schema outputs.
• Experience driving secure adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering tools and setting team expectations for AI outputs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modular, maintainable AI systems aligned to Infrastructure platform standards, scalable and repairable.
• Collaborate with Applied AI/ML, Data Science, and Cybersecurity engineers to develop secure AI solutions for Infrastructure Platforms and users.
• Create secure, high-quality production code with thorough reviews and debugging.
• Evaluate AI solution approaches to improve design, code quality, and operational outcomes.
• Influence peers and decision-makers to adopt leading-edge technologies with measurable value.
• Lead adoption of enterprise AI engineering practices to improve code quality, speed, and operations while standardizing validation (secure coding, reviews, testing).
• Contribute to firmwide AI engineering standards and SDLC practices.
• Foster a team culture of opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
