Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a hands-on Platform Engineer - Senior VP to own the platform, tooling, and infrastructure for AI/ML products within IPB AIML. You will set standards for deployment, scalability, security, and reliability across production services.

This role partners with data and AI engineers to productionise models, manages capacity and costs, and mentors engineers while advocating for diversity and inclusion in a demanding financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and infrastructure-as-code with modern software practices.
• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerisation, and cloud-native deployment patterns.
• Strong CI/CD experience and a track record of deployment and release automation.
• Experience serving, scaling, and monitoring ML models or data-intensive services in production (MLOps).
• Observability tooling (metrics, logging, tracing) and production incident response.
• Experience operating ML/LLM workloads in production (LLMOps, cost/performance).
• Excellent communication and ability to set standards for others.

Responsibilities

• Owns design and build of the team's platform: deployment pipelines, model serving, containerisation, orchestration, and environment management.
• Sets reliability, observability, and operational excellence standards across production AI/ML services.
• Builds tooling and paths for AI engineers to ship agentic AI/ML products safely and quickly.
• Implements platform-level security, secrets management, and access controls to firm-wide standards.
• Partners with data/AI engineers to productionise models and coordinates with infra teams to reduce risk.
• Leads capacity, cost, and performance management for compute and inference workloads.
• Mentors platform and DevOps engineers and enforces engineering standards via design reviews.
• Champions JPMorgan Chase culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
