Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for Infrastructure Platforms Applied AI/ML to design and build reusable APIs and libraries. This hands-on role focuses on scalable, secure AI-enabled infrastructure in a regulated financial services environment.

You will collaborate with Applied AI/ML, Data Science, and Cybersecurity teams to deliver production-grade AI solutions, drive best practices, and mentor engineers on AI-assisted engineering and SDLC adoption.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on system/software development experience in secure, regulated environments.
• Experience leading technical discussions across teams or programs.
• Significant experience in Java or Python.
• Experience using AI coding assistants (GitHub Copilot or Claude Code).
• Solid understanding of building AI solutions using LLM-backed architecture.
• Strong understanding of API design, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience building and operating cloud-native services on AWS including Bedrock.
• Strong DevOps practices: CI/CD, containers (Docker, ECS/EKS), and IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Strong prompt engineering capability: system prompts, few-shot prompting, tool/function calling, JSON schemas.
• Experience driving secure adoption of enterprise-approved AI-assisted engineering tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Financial services industry experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modular, maintainable AI systems aligned to Infrastructure platform standards.
• Collaborate with Applied AI/ML, Data Science, and Cybersecurity engineers to create secure AI solutions.
• Create secure, high-quality production code and review others' code.
• Evaluate AI solution approaches to improve design, code quality, and operations.
• Influence peers to adopt leading-edge technologies with measurable value.
• Drive enterprise AI practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and validation standards.
• Promote reuse of effective patterns across the team.
• Contribute to firmwide AI/SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices.
• Foster a culture of opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
• Mentor engineers to stay at AI engineering forefront.
