Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a busy paediatric and neonatal service at Coventry. You will work with neonates and children inpatients, leading assessments and providing advanced clinical care within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires high-level expertise in feeding and swallowing disorders, plus leadership in service development.

Qualifications

• Specialist paediatric dysphagia assessment and management for neonates and children.
• Experience leading service development and audit in the client group.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage feeding and swallowing difficulties in 0–17 years and neonates.
• Provide supervision, training and support to SLTs and assistants.
• Lead policy development within neonates and paediatric SLT.
• Prioritise referrals and triage to ensure high-risk patients are seen promptly.
• Collaborate with families and other professionals to plan care.
• Maintain HCPC and local trust standards and accurate case notes.
