Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to work with neonates and paediatric inpatients. The role emphasises specialist assessment, multidisciplinary collaboration, and leading service development.

You will provide autonomous assessment and treatment of feeding and swallowing difficulties, participate in MDT discussions, supervise staff, and contribute to policy development within the neonatal and paediatric SLT specialties.

Qualifications

• Experience in neonatal and paediatric inpatient SLT settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-quality, evidence-based SLT service for neonates and paediatrics.
• Provide clinical supervision and staff training.
• Autonomous SLT assessment and treatment of feeding and swallowing difficulties.
• Collaborate with MDT to influence patient care plans and discharge planning.
• Offer expert input to other MDT members and students.
• Lead SLT policy development within neonates and paediatrics.
• Prioritise and triage urgent referrals to ensure high-risk patients are seen promptly.
