Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust (CWPT) seeks a Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist to join the Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Team in Coventry. You will assess and deliver evidence-based interventions with children and young people aged 0-19, working with families, schools and health colleagues.

You will provide training, maintain records, participate in service development, and support less experienced staff within a collaborative, compassionate team that values

Qualifications

  • HCPC registration and a recognised Speech and Language Therapy qualification.
  • Post-graduate training relevant to the client group.
  • Experience with children aged 0-19 with diverse SLCN.
  • Experience delivering training and multi-agency collaboration.
  • Ability to travel across Coventry regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan and deliver evidence-based speech and language interventions for children and young people aged 0-19.
  • Work with other SLTs and assistants in the team to provide coordinated care.
  • Partner with parents, carers, education staff and health professionals to support outcomes.
  • Deliver services across community, education and clinic settings.

Job description

You will work with children and young people aged 0-19 years, supporting a wide range of speech, language and communication needs across a variety of settings. Our therapists work collaboratively with families, education settings and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure children and young people achieve the best possible outcomes. The Children's SLT team can offer :

  • Assess, plan and deliver evidence-based interventions for children and young people with speech, language and communication needs.
  • Work with other speech and language therapists and speech and language therapy assistants in the team.
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, education staff and health professionals.
  • Work in a variety of settings across community, education and clinic.
  • Deliver training to support the wider childrens workforce.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures.
  • Participate in service development activities and quality improvement projects.
  • Support less experienced colleagues, providing clinical supervision and mentoring.
  • Have service wide responsibilities.

  • Experience of multi-agency / professional working, Ability to travel independently across the city on a regular basis
    The Children's Speech & Language Therapy Team aims to provide a high quality service to children, young people and their families. We provide assessment, interventions, and advice to children and young people aged 0-19 with a Coventry GP. We also support children in Coventry special schools and specialist settings with an Education, Health & Care Plan.
