Job summary

The Overhaul Production Manager role at Morson Group is based in Manchester. You will lead a busy production operation for a brand-new overhaul facility, driving safety, quality and delivery across components such as bogies and wheelsets.

You will join an experienced team, delivering lean improvements, training, and efficient production flows in a heavy engineering environment, with clear opportunities to shape the operation from the ground up.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in production and people management within heavy engineering, manufacturing or rail environments.
• Proven track record delivering high-quality production output on time.
• Experience with component overhaul, workshop operations or depot environments.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• TPM and Autonomous Maintenance experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day production operation and manage performance, organisation and development of the facility.
• Oversee component overhaul activities including bogies, wheelsets, traction motors, gearboxes, couplers, PWPs, HVAC systems.
• Drive safety, quality, cost and delivery targets across the production team.
• Plan and manage day-to-day production activities and resources.
• Support setup and mobilisation of the new overhaul facility and layout optimisation.
• Ensure robust training and understanding of Bills of Materials and production requirements.
