Job summary

Amey Consulting is seeking an experienced OLE Engineer to join the Rail team in the UK. You will lead a design team, mentor junior designers, and produce deliverables that meet quality, cost and programme requirements.

You will bring civil engineering expertise in rail, strong design process knowledge, and a track record of working to health and safety standards. Hybrid working options and multiple UK office locations are available.

Qualifications

• Developed experience and expertise within Civil engineering, likely in Rail sector.
• Comprehensive knowledge of design processes and procedures in civil engineering.
• Ability to produce or oversee technically sound Rail engineering solutions meeting standards.
• Experience with health, safety and welfare requirements (CDM).
• Progress towards Incorporated or Chartered status or equivalent licence.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate subject.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to produce technically sound engineering solutions in rail schemes.
• Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings and documentation for deliverables.
• Oversee junior staff and mentor designers on projects.
• Responsible for commercial success, budgets and cost management.
• Liaise with client and supplier representatives; attend progress meetings.
• Contribute to bids and general work-winning activities.
• Work on site, visiting or full-time temporary role with occasional out-of-hours work.
• Manage actions of a small to medium single-discipline technical team.
