Job summary

Operose Health is seeking a Lead Nurse to lead a multidisciplinary team at St Ann's Road Surgery. The role involves delivering patient care from history taking to treatment, with a focus on clinical excellence and safe decision-making.

Candidates should have post-qualification experience and be an NMC registered lead with AHCP credentials. The post offers substantial leadership responsibilities within primary care, with opportunities to support prescribing, professional development and service

  • Evidence of academic links or collaboration with academic bodies.
  • Extensive clinical experience in Primary Care Health settings and managing nursing teams.
  • Understanding of the Lead Nurse role and its responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Work with regional nursing, operational and GP teams to meet targets within national service frameworks.
  • Provide care from history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care; demonstrate safe clinical decision-making.
  • Lead nursing activities, support the Regional Lead Nurse, and contribute to quality and redesign initiatives to maintain high standards.

Job description

Are you looking a Practice Nurse looking for an exciting new opportunity?

We are looking for an Lead Nurse for 37.50 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities

Key duties will include:

  • To work closely with the regional nursing, operational and GP team members to ensure all targets are met in line with current guidelines and standards within national service frameworks.
  • You will be acting within your professional boundaries, will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. You will demonstrate safe, clinical decision-making and expert care, including assessment and diagnostic skills, for patients within the general practice. Youwill demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process. You will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures, and providing nurse leadership as required. In order to work at this level NMC requirement for advanced practice must be met.
  • In addition to the responsibilities above the post holder will support the Regional Lead Nurse and act as a deputy as required to ensure a high level of quality and standards at all times.Will be involved with the implementation and monitoring of all clinical aspects by demonstrating clinical excellence in conjunction with the site clinical lead and assist with the implementation of any nursing / ACHP redesign and quality strategies to ensure a high quality nursing / AHCP team.
