Job summary

United Infrastructure Energy Limited is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to lead mechanical design and coordination across the full project lifecycle. You will oversee compressor packages, gas process systems, piping, and associated equipment, ensuring safe, compliant, and on-schedule delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status (or working towards chartership) preferred.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in mechanical engineering within design and project management.
• Natural Gas Infrastructure experience.
• Experience delivering EPC or Design & Build projects.
• Strong understanding of rotating equipment and compressor systems.
• Knowledge of pressure systems and gas process facilities.
• Familiarity with relevant UK and international engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities during all project phases.
• Review and approve mechanical design deliverables including compressor packages and gas process systems.
• Coordinate design interfaces between mechanical, civil, structural, electrical, control, and process engineering disciplines.
• Review PFDs, P&IDs, mechanical layouts, GA drawings, equipment specifications, and datasheets.
• Manage mechanical deliverables against project schedule and budget.
• Provide technical leadership during procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and vendor inspections.
• Support contractor and vendor management throughout project execution.
• Review vendor documentation and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Coordinate design reviews and risk mitigation throughout the lifecycle.
