Job summary

United Infrastructure Group in Warrington is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and coordination of a Design & Build natural gas compressor station project. You will drive technical decisions across interfaces and ensure compliance with industry standards.

This role requires a Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership, 10+ years in mechanical engineering within energy infrastructure, and a proven track record delivering EPC or complex design projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer status preferred or working towards chartership.
• 10+ years' experience in mechanical engineering within design and project management.
• Experience with natural gas infrastructure and compressor stations is desirable.
• Knowledge of UK and international engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate mechanical engineering activities across all project phases.
• Review and approve mechanical design deliverables including compressors and piping.
• Coordinate interfaces with civil, structural, electrical, and process teams.
• Manage mechanical deliverables against schedule and budget.
• Support procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance throughout the project.
