Job summary

CBRE is seeking a Technical Engineer to lead engineering operations and guide technicians, vendors and subcontractors in a busy facilities environment. This role sits within the Engineering and Technical Services function and focuses on delivering reliable building systems and preventive maintenance.

You will oversee maintenance work, coordinate shutdowns, ensure compliance with codes and safety standards, and provide clear operational training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma; 4–5 years of job-related experience may be considered in lieu.
• Meet the physical requirements including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting 50 lbs or more.
• Ability to exercise judgment based on analysis of multiple information sources.
• Willingness to adopt new perspectives on existing solutions.
• In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Comply with applicable codes, regulations, and Company directives related to building operations and safety.
• Oversee operations, assign work orders, and provide technical and procedural training of coworkers and subcontractors.
• Consult with clients to schedule preventive maintenance and downtime to minimize business interruption.
• Formulate and implement a preventive maintenance program to ensure equipment and systems meet or exceed their rated life.
• Oversee and inspect the work performed by engineering staff.
• Confirm work is complete, equipment is functional and client space is in prime working condition.
• Respond quickly to emergencies and summon additional assistance as needed.
• Apply in-depth knowledge to accomplish complex assignments and provide innovative solutions.
• Coach others and share knowledge across multiple disciplines within the function.
• Lead by example and build consensus to reach agreements.
• Impact activities within own team and related teams within broad guidelines.
• Explain difficult or sensitive information.
