Job summary

Marchant Recruitment seeks an outstanding Lead Practitioner of Mathematics in Swindon to elevate teaching standards and drive problem-solving frameworks. You will deliver high-quality lessons across KS3–KS5 and lead departmental pedagogy with senior leadership.

You will model evidence-based strategies, coach staff, and prepare Sixth Form students for competitive university entrance papers and national challenges. January start, full-time permanent role.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with an honours degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or Physics.
• Proven track record of delivering top-tier GCSE and A-Level/Further Maths outcomes.
• Experience in peer coaching, curriculum design, or Key Stage subject leadership.
• Deep subject knowledge and the ability to stretch mathematically ambitious pupils.
• Active enhanced DBS check on Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Teach high-rigor Mathematics across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5.
• Lead departmental coaching, peer observations, and PD workshops on math pedagogy.
• Audit and refine schemes of work to build fluency and multi-step problem solving.
• Analyze assessment metrics to implement targeted interventions.
• Prepare Sixth Form pupils for Oxbridge, STEP, MAT and STEM university entrance assessments.
• Mentor early-career maths teachers across A-Level modules.
