Job Overview

A high-performing secondary academy in Swindon, Wiltshire, is seeking an outstanding Lead Practitioner of Mathematics to elevate teaching standards, drive problem-solving frameworks, and boost Sixth Form mathematical outcomes starting in January.

This role combines expert classroom delivery across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE Higher/Foundation), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Mathematics / Further Maths) with strategic responsibility for whole-department pedagogy.

Working directly alongside senior leadership and the Head of Mathematics, you will model evidence-based teaching strategies (mastery learning, cognitive load management), lead peer coaching sessions, analyze pupil progress data, and prepare high-attaining Sixth Form students for competitive university entrance papers (STEP/MAT) and national UKMT challenges. This is a full-time, permanent contract starting in January.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach high-rigor Mathematics lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 (GCSE), and Key Stage 5 (A-Level / Further Maths)
• Lead departmental coaching, peer lesson observations, and staff professional development workshops on math pedagogy
