Job summary

National Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) is seeking an Operational Team Leader to guide a 20-strong Craft team delivering a safe, reliable electricity network in East Wales from Cardiff or Swansea. You’ll drive safe, efficient delivery of major projects, coordinate work, and ensure training, authorisations and performance management are in place.

Regular travel across the area is required. As a visible leader, you’ll uphold health and safety policies and manage performance through 1:1s,

Qualifications

• Experience in leading safety-critical or regulated teams.
• Strong data interpretation to identify performance trends.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations and Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
• Ability to manage performance and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring your teams adherence to Health and Safety regulations.
• Efficient scheduling of work activities.
• Collaboration with other teams to manage workload.
• Driving team productivity and individual performance management.
• Maintaining a full schedule of work for the team.
• Ensure our people have the appropriate training and work authorisations to support a safe and productive working environment.
• Respond quickly and professionally to customer complaints.
