National Grid is seeking a Team Leader for the Alfreton depot to supervise a craft workforce across the Chesterfield & Mansfield area. The role reports to the Field Operations Team Manager and focuses on safe, compliant operations and efficient delivery.
Starting salary is £45,492, rising to £49,369 after training, with opportunities to drive performance and develop teams. You will lead a team, schedule work, and ensure training and authorisations are in place to deliver high-quality service
An opportunity is available for a Team Leader based at our Alfreton depot in Chesterfield & Mansfield area, who will report to the Field Operations Team Manager and will be responsible for leading a group of Craft (operational) staff.
The key focus of this role is to lead an efficient and productive team across a region. Key considerations for the successful running of your team include: ensuring they are working compliantly within H&S policies, coordinating programmes of work for them to undertake, maximising efficiencies in delivery, ensuring your team has the appropriate development and authorisations and effectively managing performance on a 1:1 basis.
This is a crucial role to help drive forward performance and give our large teams the support they need in the field.

We are looking for an excellent communicator, who has the ability to build strong relationships with our customers. A problem solver who is organised and can plan ahead.
You must have a proven track record of managing teams including managing and driving performance, as well as experience of being the point of escalation for both internal and external stakeholders.
You’ll need a good understanding or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of:
Some Commercial and Financial awareness would be an advantage.
A NRSWA qualification or understanding of NRSWA legislation is desirable however, full training can be provided.
You must hold a full, valid UK/EU driving licence as you will be required to carry out site visits.
Additionally, for operational purposes the successful candidate should live within 60 minutes of DE55 4QT.
