Job summary

Johnson Controls Somerset site is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of maintenance technicians in a manufacturing environment. You will balance hands-on technical leadership with people management to maximise equipment uptime and maintain a strong safety culture.

You will plan preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, coordinate daily activities with production and engineering, manage CMMS records, and drive improvements to asset reliability.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory position within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance principles.
• Experience coordinating planned preventative maintenance programmes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team development skills.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple activities effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.
• Experience working with CMMS systems and maintenance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians.
• Coordinate daily maintenance activities to ensure equipment availability and operational efficiency.
• Plan and prioritise preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance schedules.
• Monitor maintenance performance metrics and implement improvements to enhance reliability.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Support root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime and improve asset performance.
• Manage contractor activities and ensure compliance with site procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records through the CMMS.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and cost reduction.
