Job summary

Johnson Matthey is seeking a Maintenance Shift Supervisor in a manufacturing setting. You will lead maintenance teams, ensure safe operation, and coordinate activities with internal stakeholders to meet priorities and service levels.

The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering background with maintenance experience and strong leadership. Proficiency in Windows/Office and SAP is preferred. This is a site-based opportunity in Devon, PA with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with maintenance experience, or equivalent maintenance and supervisory experience.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Practical mechanical and/or electrical maintenance knowledge.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, coach and support maintenance personnel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with SAP, maintenance management systems and unionized workforces is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance teams to safely maintain plant equipment and facilities while ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with internal stakeholders to meet operational priorities and deliver high customer service.
• Assign work, provide technical guidance and support effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis of equipment issues.
• Support preventive maintenance programs, repairs, shutdown planning and project execution to maximize equipment reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime, improve maintenance practices and enhance workplace standards.
• Promote engagement, communication and adherence to union agreements to maintain a fair and collaborative working environment.
