Job summary

Agricultural Recruitment Specialists is seeking an Engineering Supervisor for a well-established manufacturer in the agricultural sector. The role focuses on leading a skilled maintenance team at the North Somerset/Bristol site, driving reliability improvements and coordinating preventative and reactive maintenance to support production.

You will work closely with production and operations, manage CMMS records, plan engineering work, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in an engineering supervisory or team leader role.
• A recognised Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification.
• Experience working within feed manufacturing or a similar process industry.
• Strong knowledge of planned maintenance systems and CMMS software.
• Experience with PLC-controlled production equipment.
• Electrical fault-finding skills within an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of steam, boilers or compressed air systems.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A practical approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team of maintenance engineers.
• Plan and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
• Drive improvements in equipment reliability and plant performance.
• Manage maintenance schedules and engineering records using a CMMS.
• Work closely with production to minimise downtime and improve efficiency.
• Investigate recurring equipment issues and implement long-term solutions.
• Coordinate external contractors and ensure work is completed safely and to the required standards.
• Manage engineering stores and spare parts to support efficient maintenance operations.
• Support compliance with statutory inspections and site engineering requirements.
• Provide technical support during breakdowns, including participation in an on-call rota.
