Job summary

The Primary First Trust is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Northfleet. You will work closely with teachers to help pupils become confident, independent learners who stay focused and engaged. You will plan, deliver, and assess activities across whole class and targeted groups, while maintaining a positive, inclusive learning environment.

A commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional development is expected; HLTA qualification or working towards it is preferred.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants / HLTA qualification (or working towards one).
• Experience across the primary curriculum.
• Experience supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning activities, both to the whole class and to small groups or individuals needing targeted support.
• Monitor, assess and record pupils' progress and development.
• Lead the classroom in the Teacher's absence, keeping learning consistent and on track.
• Support effective classroom management alongside the Class Teacher.
• Work with Teachers to design and deliver individualised plans for pupils with special educational needs.
