Job summary

Advancing People Ltd seeks an experienced estimator to lead the estimating and design/bid development across IT infrastructure, structured cabling, and multi-discipline projects. You will drive technical authority and commercial judgment with minimal supervision, shaping bids and client engagement.

The role focuses on cost planning, tender submissions, and developing high‑quality proposals, with exposure to public-sector procurement and flexible remote/hybrid work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Experience as an estimator/designer in technology, infrastructure or engineering.
• Strong Excel skills are essential.
• Experience with frameworks, Schedule of Rates or public-sector procurement is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the estimating team to support significant growth.
• Lead cost planning, estimating and tender submissions for technically complex projects.
• Shape scope, assumptions, exclusions and commercial risk to support bid strategy and margin control.
• Develop high-quality technical and commercial proposals with pricing models and supporting documents.
• Lead or validate technical designs and surveys, coordinating internal engineers and external survey partners.
• Engage with clients at bid stage as a trusted technical partner in design‑and‑build and early engagement environments.
• Contribute to winning work through technical credibility and commercial input.
• Monitor tender portals and frameworks (NFP) and plan for public-sector renewals.
