Job summary

McLaren Automotive Limited in Bicester seeks a Lead Engineer for Interior Switches to lead the development of interior switch hardware and control units across current and future McLaren road cars. You will own technical delivery from concept through industrialisation, collaborating with EE, HMI, software, quality and purchasing teams.

The role requires a hands-on leader with experience in automotive interior electronics, robust DFMEA/validation planning, and a track record of delivering

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive Interior Electronics / Switch Packs development.
• Excellent understanding of Automotive New Product Development Process and milestones.
• Demonstrable experience of electrical switches development and manufacture for multiple projects.
• Knowledge of automotive Ethernet, CAN, FlexRay, LIN networks, vehicle diagnostics, ISO26262 and EuroNCAP.
• Understanding of Functional Safety and Cyber Security requirements for a global market vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of Project Engineers to deliver interior switches and switch-control systems for current and future vehicles.
• Take technical ownership of interior switch hardware and related electronic controls from concept to production.
• Coordinate system specifications including mechanical, electrical, network, diagnostic, illumination and haptic requirements.
• Ensure integration of switches into the vehicle electrical architecture in collaboration with teams and suppliers.
• Support supplier partnerships and manage cost, timing and risk across the product lifecycle.
