Job summary

McLaren Racing is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer for Interior Switches to lead the team responsible for interior switch hardware and electronic controls across current and future McLaren road cars.

You will own technical delivery from concept to production, drive DFMEA and validation plans, and collaborate across EE, Design, Quality and Manufacturing to ensure system integration within the vehicle electrical architecture.

Qualifications

• Experience in automotive interior electronics/switch packs.
• Strong knowledge of NPD processes and milestones.
• Proven experience delivering electrical switches across multiple projects.
• Working knowledge of automotive networks (Ethernet/CAN/LIN) and diagnostics.
• Familiarity with ISO26262 and functional safety basics.

Responsibilities

• Lead a cross-functional team of Project Engineers to deliver interior switches and switch-control systems for current and future vehicles.
• Take technical ownership of interior switch hardware and associated control units from concept through development, integration, validation and production.
• Develop and co-ordinate detailed system specifications including mechanical, electrical, network, diagnostic, illumination and human-machine interface requirements.
• Ensure effective integration of switches into the vehicle electrical architecture in collaboration with teams, partners and Tier 1 suppliers.
• Maintain current supply base and establish strategic supplier partnerships to strengthen capability and roadmap.
• Support commercial and purchasing activities to achieve on-time development within cost targets.
