Job summary

Galliford Try is recruiting a Managing Quantity Surveyor for our Infrastructure division in Derbyshire. The role leads commercial management on highways schemes, overseeing contract administration, change control and reporting, while building strong client and subcontractor relationships.

You will manage cost plans, forecasts and monthly applications, support the Project Manager with risk and value optimization, and mentor the commercial team to deliver outcomes.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of construction processes and NEC contracts.
• Strong leadership with a track record of developing teams.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation including final accounts.
• Advanced IT skills including Excel, Word and contract/cost management systems.
• CSCS card is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe and inclusive working environment.
• Lead commercial management of projects incl. contract administration, change management and reporting.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Prepare, review and manage subcontract documentation, notices and monthly applications.
• Track, forecast and reconcile project costs with detailed cost plans and reports.
• Support the Project Manager in planning, risk management and maximizing value and profit.
• Attend progress and risk meetings providing commercial insight and guidance.
• Develop and support the commercial team to achieve potential and wellbeing.
