Job summary

Galliford Try, Cheltenham-based, seeks Quantity Surveyors to support a £300m highways project within our Infrastructure division. You will work with Managing Quantity Surveyors and site teams to drive commercial admin, reporting and performance on a major civil engineering development.

Ideal candidates bring NEC contract knowledge, experience on large schemes, and strong IT skills (Excel, Word, CEMAR, Oracle) to manage cost, risk and stakeholder relationships effectively.

Qualifications

• Good appreciation of NEC contracts.
• Experience of working on major civil engineering schemes.
• Strong IT skills including Excel, Word & Contractual and Cost Management Systems (CEMAR, Oracle).
• Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to creating a safe working environment.
• Produce and negotiate subcontract documentation, including terms, prices, and schedules.
• Manage subcontract works packages, including interim assessments and change management.
• Issue commercial notices to the Client and Subcontractors as required by the contract.
• Manage contract changes, including Compensation Event Quotations, and submit monthly applications to the Client.
• Collaborate with operational and engineering teams to maintain proper site records.
• Generate detailed monthly reports, Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR), and maintain a comprehensive Cost Plan.
• Attend progress and risk reduction meetings, applying contractual expertise to support estimating and bid teams.
