Job summary

Galliford Try is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for a major highways scheme in Cheltenham. The role supports managing QS and site teams with commercial administration and reporting to ensure cost control and timely payments.

The successful candidate will handle subcontract terms, pricing, schedules, payments, and changes, while maintaining records and cost plans. NEC contract experience and strong Excel/Oracle/CEMAR skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC contracts on major highway projects.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, CEMAR and Oracle.
• Ability to manage cost reporting and change control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and negotiate subcontract terms.
• Prices and schedules for subcontract work.
• Assess subcontract payments and administer changes.
• Issue contractual notices and prepare compensation-event quotations.
• Submit monthly client payment applications.
• Maintain site records with engineering and operations colleagues.
• Produce cost-value reconciliations and keep the cost plan current.
• Attend progress and risk meetings and provide contractual advice.
