Job summary

Dyfed Powys Police is seeking a Lead Indexer for the Major Crime Support Team (MCST). The role involves taking responsibility for the registration and indexing within a Major Incident Room, researching and categorising information, and allocating actions with support to other indexers.

Qualifications

• Must have experience of researching and collation of sensitive/confidential information and be able to interpret and evaluate large quantities of data to extract salient points and summarise.
• Must have previous experience of working in an investigative field, be able to meet deadlines, and must be able to travel throughout the Force Area.
• Must have a good working knowledge of MIRSAP, HOLMES and Microsoft Applications e.g. Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
• Must possess a Diploma level qualification related to the specialist area, or have proven, relevant experience bringing the role holder to a comparable level.
• Must have a proven ability to work effectively with a minimum of supervision, organising and prioritising own workload (E)

Responsibilities

• Register and index information within a Major Incident Room (MIR).
• Prepare, research and categorise information gathered during the enquiry and allocate actions.
• Support other indexers where necessary.
• All candidates are subject to vetting and medical checks.
