Job summary

Qualifications

• PIP Level 1 trained or equivalent investigative experience.
• PIP Level 2 preferred.
• Experience in crime investigation or law enforcement.
• Handling of sensitive material ethically.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Knowledge of criminal law related to investigations.
• Understanding of CPIA disclosure principles.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Welsh language Level 1 essential; Level 2 desirable.

Responsibilities

• Evidence collection: gather, review and present evidence per requirements.
• House-to-house inquiries and CCTV investigations.
• Manage and transport exhibits; liaise with SIO for forensic testing.
• Attend court to provide verbal evidence and liaise with CPS.
• Use NICHE and other systems to maintain disclosure databases.
• Operate CPIA disclosure duties and ensure materials are presented to CPS.
• Review information from CCTV, inquiries, and digital downloads.
• Assist in preparing files for CPS submission.
• Conduct interviews with suspects or witnesses per codes of practice.
