Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an experienced instrumentation, control & automation technician to join the Wastewater team at Greenwich Storm. You will install, modify and commission plant equipment, diagnose faults and work with multi-disciplinary teams to maintain asset integrity.

The role requires HNC/NVQ3 in instrumentation and automation, PLC/SCADA experience (Wonderware/ClearSCADA), and a full UK driving licence. Benefits include a van, tools, PPE, 24–28 days leave and a generous pension.

Qualifications

• Qualified to HNC level or NVQ level 3 in instrumentation, control and automation.
• 18th Edition (BS7671) preferred.
• Strong understanding of operational plant and control systems.
• Experience with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen-Bradley).
• Ability to read circuit diagrams and fault-find; inverter drives.
• Experience calibrating and maintaining front-line instrumentation.
• Excellent communicator with internal and external staff.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain instrumentation, control and automation on wastewater assets.
• Install, modify and commission plant equipment to standards.
• Diagnose and repair faults on systems and plants.
• Record asset information to improve performance and raise risks.
• Provide technical advice and coach staff, including apprentices.
• Deliver excellent customer experience with internal and external customers.
