Job summary

Southern Water is seeking an Instrumentation, Control and Automation Technician – Waste Water to maintain and improve ICA systems across multiple sites in Kent. You will ensure reliability, compliance and efficiency of control systems while supporting continuous improvement, with a company van and fuel card provided.

The role requires NVQ3 or time-served’d training in electrical/electronic engineering, plus experience with PLCs (Rockwell/Mitsubishi), SCADA/HMI and networked instrumentation.

Qualifications

• Relevant electrical/instrumentation qualifications or apprenticeship.
• Experience with instrumentation, control or automation systems.
• Good fault-finding and documentation skills for compliance.

Responsibilities

• Planned, reactive and proactive maintenance of instrumentation and automation equipment.
• Fault diagnosis and calibration of telemetry, flowmeters, transmitters and analysers.
• Program and backup PLC/HMI/SCADA configurations and maintain change control.
• Set up site networks and coordinate with control centre for alarms and faults.
