Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering HVDC control and protection systems. You will drive design, verification, and integration across global projects, ensuring safety, quality and contractual commitments.

This role offers technical leadership, customer interaction, and the chance to grow project management skills within an international organisation delivering complex HVDC solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent with industry experience.
• Experience in Control & Protection of HV & LV systems.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving and urgency sense.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Willingness to travel globally.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidiscipline team of engineers specialising in control and protection system, automation system, HV & LV power systems, and verification & validation ensuring the overall solution meets customer, contract, quality and regulatory requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, advice and assistance to the overall project team including Tendering, Commissioning, Service and 3rd parties.
• Support the Project Manager as required and deputise when needed.
• Plan and progress design engineering activities including testing and commissioning for specific projects.
• Monitor and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risk management, design reviews and change control.
• Support improvement initiatives and cost-out plans with teams from other business units.
• Act as primary technical and project interface with all stakeholders including customers, suppliers, NPI and Product care.
• Ensure activities are executed cost-effectively according to contract specs, quality standards and safety requirements.
• Lead the team to successfully execute projects within schedule and budget.
• Lead and motivate a group of technical people.
• Solve problems related to control & protection and automation of HVDC solutions.
• Interact daily with different functions for collaboration and competency development.
