Job summary

GE Vernova in Stafford, United Kingdom, is seeking a Lead Control Systems Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on system requirements, design and verification of control and protection functions for HVDC schemes. You will model DC systems and AC network equivalents, including renewable integration, and interface with control contract equipment to validate control and protection systems.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with power systems/power electronics knowledge or equivalent HVDC experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication, able to present technical reports.
• Willingness to travel globally and work to deadlines.

Responsibilities

• HVDC system modelling in PSCAD and RTDS.
• AC network modelling and validation in PSCAD/RTDS.
• Dynamic performance studies using offline/online tools.
• Model renewable AC networks (wind/solar) in PSCAD/RSCAD and validate.
• Lead technical design reviews and mitigate risks.
