Job summary

GE Vernova Grid Solutions is seeking a Lead Project Engineer in the UK to drive the design, development, configuration and verification of HVDC control and protection systems. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team and coordinate with customers, suppliers and internal teams to ensure technically robust, compliant solutions that meet project objectives.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Project Management.
• Significant experience in Control & Protection systems and problem-solving.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage project risks.
• Willingness to travel globally.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multidiscipline team of engineers specialising in control and protection system, automation system, HV & LV power systems, and verification & validation.
• Provide technical leadership to the project team including Tendering, Commissioning, Service and 3rd parties.
• Support the Project Manager and deputise for them when needed.
• Plan and progress all design engineering activities including testing and commissioning for specific projects.
• Monitor, control and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risk management, design reviews and quality & change control system in accordance with company guidelines.
• Support improvement initiatives and ‘cost out’ plans in collaborations with teams from other business units.
• Act as primary technical & project interface with all project stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, NPI and Product care.
• Manage and lead the team to successfully execute projects with adherence to the project schedule, cost and contract.
• Lead and motivate a group of technical people.
• Act as a problem solver and take responsibility for control & protection along with automation of HVDC solutions.
• Day-to-day interaction with different functions and joint problem solving within the core team for efficient collaboration and continuous competency development.
