Job summary

Supply Staff Ltd is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in Somerset schools. This full-time long-term role offers reliable daily pay (£100–£140) in line with framework guidelines and a dedicated consultant to support placement.

You will lead lessons, support learning activities, manage classrooms, and work with pupils with SEN, ensuring safeguarding and high standards of behaviour.

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification required or equivalent.
• HLTA qualification or status highly desirable.
• Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Strong classroom management and safeguarding commitment.

Responsibilities

• Lead lessons, learning activities and interventions under staff direction.
• Take responsibility for groups or whole classes when required.
• Support lesson preparation, classroom organisation and activities.
• Work with individuals and small groups to support progress.
• Support pupils with SEN and additional learning needs.
• Maintain strong behaviour management and positive engagement.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEN staff and colleagues to support development.
• Provide guidance and support to Teaching Assistants where appropriate.
