Job summary

Flourish Education is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a friendly 2-form entry Primary School in Halesowen. This full-time HLTA role runs through to the end of the academic year in July 2027 and covers Early Years to KS2, with no planning required.

You will lead whole-class sessions, support pupil progress across the curriculum, and work with staff to ensure continuity. The role suits both newly qualified teachers building confidence and experienced educators

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience.
• Previous experience covering classes within a primary school setting.
• Strong behaviour management skills and confidence leading a class.
• Flexible and adaptable approach to working across all primary year groups.
• Proactive and positive attitude towards supporting learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons across Early Years, KS1 and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively and promote a positive learning environment.
• Support pupils’ learning and engagement across a variety of subjects.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs.
• Work closely with teaching staff to ensure consistency and continuity across classes.
• Provide feedback on pupil progress and classroom activities.
