Job summary

Windwhistle Primary School in Weston-super-Mare is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team. You will deliver learning activities, supervise classes, and work with teachers to plan interventions, supporting pupils with diverse needs.

The role requires at least four years in a school setting, a Level 3 TA qualification, strong safeguarding knowledge, and excellent communication. Aiming to raise achievement, you’ll contribute to inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years' experience in a school environment.
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and child protection practices.
• Ability to lead learning activities and support whole-class teaching.
• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes under teaching staff guidance.
• Supervise classes during teacher absence and maintain continuity of learning.
• Plan, adapt and deliver learning interventions with teachers.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing, independence and inclusion.
• Collaborate with staff, parents and external agencies to support pupils.
