Job summary

Windwhistle Primary School is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and ambitious team. You will deliver learning activities, supervise classes in teachers' absence, and support pupils with diverse needs to ensure inclusive progress.

The role requires a Level 3 TA qualification, strong safeguarding knowledge, and the ability to lead learning activities. This fixed-term contract runs until August 2027 with potential extension subject to funding.

Qualifications

• Requires at least four years of experience working within a school environment.
• Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and child protection practice.
• Confident in leading learning activities and supporting whole-class teaching.

Responsibilities

• Deliver learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes under supervision.
• Supervise classes during teacher absence and maintain learning continuity.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan, adapt and deliver interventions.
• Support pupils with a range of learning needs including SEND.
• Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to assessments.
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion.
• Work with staff, parents and external agencies to support pupils.
