Job summary

Inn on the Lake in Glenridding, part of Lake District Hotels Ltd, seeks a Head Receptionist to lead our busy Front Office team and deliver warm, exceptional hospitality.

You will supervise reception, manage check-ins/outs, reservations and guest enquiries, and work closely with housekeeping and F&B to ensure flawless guest experiences across weddings and events. This live-in role offers accommodation and an exciting, varied environment in a four-star lake-side hotel.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy hotel reception, ideally in a supervisory or senior role.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate and support a team.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Experience with Rezlynx is advantageous.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervise reception team and maintain a professional, welcoming service.
• Oversee check-ins, check-outs, reservations and enquiries.
• Coordinate daily arrivals, departures and guest requirements.
• Train and coach team members to maintain high standards.
• Handle guest feedback and resolve issues professionally.
• Collaborate with housekeeping, F&B and the wider hotel team.
• Support management with targets and administrative duties.
• Ensure accurate handling of payments and billing.
