Job summary

Langdale Leisure Limited is seeking a Head Receptionist to lead Front Office operations at Langdale Hotel and Spa in Ambleside. The role is full-time and on-site, with 39 hours per week and a salary of £31,000–£33,000 depending on experience.

You will manage guest check-ins/outs, support the Guest Services Manager, and collaborate across departments to deliver exceptional guest experiences. Live-in accommodation may be available for exceptional candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience with PMS platforms (Guestline/Reslynx) and strong IT skills including Microsoft Office.
• Proven ability to lead, supervise, and support reception teams, including rota and staffing management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a calm, professional manner.
• Highly organised, accurate, and detail-focused under pressure.
• Confident decision-maker with proactive, flexible approach and cash handling knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead Front Office shifts and supervise Front Office team members.
• Support smooth daily arrivals and departures with high guest-interaction standards.
• Coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, F&B, Spa, and Leisure for seamless experiences.
• Coach team members, onboard staff, and ensure procedures and safety standards.
• Participate in Manager on Duty rota as required.
