Job summary

HMYOI Werrington seeks a registered psychologist for the Psychology Services team. This non-operational, offender-facing post sits with line management and trainee supervision, and offers hybrid working within the UK.

The role focuses on risk assessment, intervention work, research, consultancy and staff development. Responsibilities include leading risk assessments, advising on targets and locations, supervising trainee psychologists, delivering training, acting as expert witness when required,

Qualifications

• Registered psychologist with HCPC registration in forensic or clinical psychology.
• Experience in supervision and training of staff or trainees.
• Experience in risk assessment and risk management for offenders.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk assessment and risk management for offenders.
• Provide professional advice on targets, objectives and reports.
• Develop strategy and activity plans, including programme assessments.
• Provide consultancy on psychology services and outcomes.
• Conduct research and data analysis.
• Supervise trainee psychologists and provide training and mentoring.
• Ensure staff development against competencies and policies.
• Possibly undertake ACCT and self-harm assessments.
• Act as expert witness in parole hearings or court proceedings as required.
• Maintain CPD and HCPC registration.
