Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is seeking a senior Counselling/Clinical psychologist to join Youth Custody Services. The post holder will be HCPC registered and will work to reduce risk and re-offending by undertaking complex assessments and providing consultancy and training.

This non-operational role includes line management and supervision of trainee psychologists, development of programmes, and delivery of expert opinions in offender reports and parole contexts, with hybrid working within the UK.

Qualifications

• Professional background in psychology with HCPC registration.
• Experience in risk assessment and offender reports is essential.
• Chartered Psychologist status with BPS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducts full case reviews and provides authoritative guidance on sentence plans.
• Lead and supervise group sessions and offender reports.
• Provide consultancy to SMT and contribute to staff training and CPD.
