Job summary

Ministry of Justice is seeking a Permanent Registered Psychologist for the Psychology Services team at HMYOI Feltham. The post is non-operational with line management responsibilities and supervision of trainee psychologists, with some hybrid working as needed.

You will lead risk assessments, provide professional opinions for reports, conduct research, and supervise staff and trainees within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Qualified forensic or clinical psychologist with HCPC registration.
• Experience in psychology, including clinical supervision.
• Training in effective models of treatment and best practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk assessment and risk management for prisoners and offenders.
• Provide professional opinions for lifer, parole reports and related documents.
• Offer consultancy to senior management on psychology services and outcomes.
• Conduct research and data analysis.
• Provide supervision to trainee forensic psychologists.
• Train and mentor trainee psychologists and other staff.
• Develop staff against key competencies and procedures.
• Plan and manage programme assessments for indeterminate prisoners.
• Deliver complex treatment programmes where input is required.
• Act as professional witness at parole hearings and expert witness in court.
