Job summary

Ramboll is seeking an Environment and Consents Manager to drive DCO discharge and environmental compliance for major infrastructure. You’ll work with contractors, planners and regulators to ensure timely approvals and robust site evidence.

The role is predominantly site-based, with travel across Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire or Suffolk, offering a chance to shape practical, proportionate consented solutions within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience in DCO discharge, secondary consents, environmental permitting.
• Good understanding of UK environmental legislation and regulatory processes.
• Experience preparing and managing consent applications and evidence packs.
• Confident on-site with contractors and delivery teams.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly in writing and verbally.
• Strong organisational and coordination skills in a programme-driven environment.
• Degree in environmental science, environmental management, planning, geography, or engineering.
• Willing to spend most of the week on site in Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire or Suffolk with travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management of DCO requirements, secondary consents and environmental compliance for projects.
• Develop and maintain discharge trackers, consent registers, application packs and evidence bundles; prepare stakeholder briefings and action plans.
• Engage regulators, statutory consultees and authorities to drive approvals and maintain programme confidence.
• Review environmental permissions and translate commitments into practical controls, surveys and checks.
• Provide on-site support to contractors, coordinating cross-disciplinary inputs for compliance.
• Advise on design, land, methodology and programme changes embedding consenting requirements into schedules.
• Contribute to proposals, budgets and delivery plans; mentor junior colleagues.
