Job summary

ERM is seeking an experienced Principal Consultant – Onshore Consents Manager to lead post-consent environmental compliance delivery across major infrastructure projects in the UK. You will manage consent requirements, planning conditions, and environmental commitments, partnering with regulators and stakeholders to ensure timely discharge.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental consent management or post-consent delivery on large infrastructure projects.
• Understanding of UK planning regimes and consent processes (DCOs, Town and Country Planning Act, Electricity Act).
• Experience preparing compliance reports and regulatory correspondence.
• Strong organisational skills for managing complex regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental consent management and post-consent compliance on major projects from consent through construction.
• Develop and implement consent management and compliance strategies to reduce regulatory risk.
• Maintain registers of consents, commitments, and obligations; track and discharge requirements.
• Coordinate preparation and submission of consent-related applications.
• Act as primary point of contact for consent and compliance queries with project teams, regulators, and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior team members and support business development in post-consent services.
