Job summary

Scrums.com seeks a Principal Forward Deployed Engineer to lead complex applied AI deployments across executive advisory, product strategy, architecture and hands-on engineering. You will frame customer problems, define production paths and create repeatable deployment models for the team.

You will guide multi-team AI programmes, set governance, security and observability standards, and mentor senior engineers while collaborating with CTOs and heads of engineering.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of leading complex production programmes.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, data platforms, cloud architecture or machine learning systems with hands-on coding.
• Proven experience guiding AI/data-intensive products from ambiguity to production use.
• Excellent communication and ability to advise executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead executive and technical discovery for complex enterprise AI deployments.
• Define target architecture, deployment strategy, governance model and success measures.
• Design high-risk components across agents, models, data, integrations and security.
• Set standards for context, permissions, guardrails and observability.
• Coordinate delivery across customer teams, Scrums engineers and partners.
